The OCD Clinic Brisbane is proud to offer gold-standard diagnostic assessment of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism for both children and adults. We have several experienced clinicians available to conduct these assessments, and while the assessment tools are consistent across clinicians, each assessment package will be tailored to the needs of clients to ensure a high level of clinical care.
ADHD Assessment
Our ADHD assessments examine patterns of attention, executive functioning, and regulation using a multi-informant, multi-method approach. This includes:
- Clinical interview focusing on lived experience, developmental history, and context
- Standardised rating scales for trait expression and differential considerations
- Cognitive and executive functioning assessment
- Collateral input from family, educators, or others across relevant settings
Autism Assessment
Autism assessments are conducted within a neuroaffirming, trauma-informed framework, prioritising the individual’s communication style, sensory profile, and interactional preferences. Components include:
- Developmental interview (including early history and family context)
- Standardised questionnaires for trait mapping and differential diagnosis
- ADOS-2 administration, tailored to the individual’s presentation
- Cognitive assessment as clinically indicated
- Collateral data from caregivers, educators, or other professionals
Outcome and Reporting
Following assessments, clients will receive detailed feedback of their assessment outcomes in a neuro-affirming manner, psychoeducation regarding any diagnoses provided, and a comprehensive report.
